For current travel information visit the U. S. Department of State - Travel Warnings and Consular Information web site http://travel.state.gov/travel_warnings.htm. The Bureau of Consular Affairs of the Department of State maintains a comprehensive website with travel information for many countries of the world.

The U.S. Department of State offers detailed safe international travel and medical information at the following sites:

- http://travel.state.gov/asafetripabroad.htm Information provided addresses, but is not limited to, such topics as what to bring, what to learn before you go, things to arrange before you go, precautions to take while traveling, and how to avoid legal difficulties.

- http://travel.state.gov/medical.htm Information covered includes listings of air ambulance/med-evac, travel insurance companies and executive medical services.

- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, at its Internet website, also offers helpful medical travel information under the heading Traveler's Health. Topic areas include reference materials, information on disease outbreaks, geographic health recommendations by region, recommended vaccinations, and information on specific diseases.
