LOCATION WORK

The Duncan Group has a strong background in international documentary production including numerous assignments in the developing world. The company has done extensive work in wilderness locations in all seasons and climates -- from hanging glaciers and ice caves to tropical rain forests.

A common thread among the people working at The Duncan Group is a love of the natural world as well as a passion for documenting (and when possible, helping to preserve) the unique cultural and spiritual diversity of the developing world. The staff shares strong ideals about the impact of our work both domestically and abroad - we believe in being "low impact" and in giving as much back as possible. When shooting documentaries, we work in very small crews and with as little equipment as possible. We specialize in using natural light. It is our goal on virtually every shoot to document our subject with as little influence or manipulation as possible. When working with not-for-profit or educational enterprises, we often provide our hosts with an opportunity to use our footage for their own educational outreach needs as well (specific examples include our work with CARE and Save The Children).

The Duncan Group has also done extensive work in the USA including various national parks and forests, the Great Lakes, states such as Iowa, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah as well as numerous wilderness shoots in Alaska (including extensive production during winter).
